Our CEO visited JLL, a global leader in real estate services, to learn about its “Future of Work” and workplace transformation.

Our CEO Isao Ko visited JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle), one of the world’s leading real estate services firms, to learn about its “Future of Work” vision and workplace transformation.
What exactly is a workplace?
JLL defines “Workplace” as all spaces and places where people work, such as digital workplaces and distributed offices regardless of location.
What’s the difference between a “workplace” and an “office”
In contrast to an office, a place where employees gather and work, the term “workplace” also has a broader meaning.
Recent changes in awareness of work styles and lifestyles have given rise to hybrid work that allows individuals to achieve a variety of work styles.
JLL’s example of the “Future of Workplace” and what are the benefits?
JLL believes that the greatest corporate resource is its employees, and it is important to maintain their physical and mental health and safety. Also, the mission is to lead in sustainable activities and play a role in connecting people and communities both inside and outside the company.
To realize diverse work styles that enable us to put our stated goals into practice, JLL moved their Tokyo head office to Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho and our Kansai branch office to Nippon Life Yodoyabashi Building in 2022. Here are some examples of their “Future of Workplace”
1. New Workstyle & Premium Experience
The concept of new workplace is a “park” where people naturally gather and communicate. The Kansai branch incorporates the history, knowledge, and international flavor of JLL, which operates globally, while the Tokyo head office incorporates Japanese traditional culture and Japanese materials such as plaster to create a space of hospitality, including a tea room.
2. Technology & New Discovery
Actively adopting JLL’s latest technology (sensor “VergeSense” for checking seat availability and analyzing crowd flow, and air quality sensor “AirThings”), they promote operational efficiency and new discoveries as a place to analyze and utilize the obtained data. To do. At our Tokyo headquarters, we have a “Presentation Suite”, a theater space that enables immersive presentations using the latest four-screen screens and JLL’s IT solutions.
3. Connectivity & Networking
JLL values interaction and community building. To promote communication both inside and outside the company, the new office has installed a cafe and salon in the reception and office areas to encourage interaction and a sense of unity both inside and outside the company.
4. Well-being & Creative Recharge
A space equipped with a variety of wellness-related facilities (mother’s room, aid room, room for yoga and e-sports) to improve the well-being of employees, refresh their bodies and minds, and increase creativity. etc.).
5. Sustainable Thinking
We are striving to create a sustainable and environmentally friendly workplace, and our Tokyo headquarters aims to achieve platinum in LEED and WELL certifications, and our Osaka office aims to obtain gold. The evaluation criteria for both certifications includes the continuous operation system from move-in construction to post-relocation, and based on the expert knowledge of JLL’s Energy & Sustainability Division.
